Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier 12.5l primer for interior and exterior, pigmented
Properties/areas of application:
Profiplus-Acryl® Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier® is a solvent-free, yellowish pigmented, roll- and brush-applied, and also sprayable special primer when applied with a suitable spraying device. It is made using carefully matched organic binders, such as polymer dispersion, adhesion promoters and pigments.
Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier® reduces the substrate’s absorbency and the risk of “burning in” of renders on cellular concrete, calcium silicate brick, brick masonry as well as all highly absorbent or unevenly absorbent substrates. This limits the formation of shrinkage cracks. Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier®, however, does not have the property of a render hardener.
Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier® can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Requirements for the substrates:
The substrate to be coated must be sufficiently dimensionally stable, load-bearing, dry, dust-free and free from loose parts, harmful efflorescence, contamination, sinter layers and oil. If in doubt, test areas should be prepared on site and, after the render has been applied on a test basis, cut and scratch samples should be carried out.
Moisture acting from the rear must be excluded.
Do not apply Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier® to frozen or damp substrates.
Application/ drying:
Before starting work, Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier® must be stirred thoroughly. This primer is applied undiluted by full-surface application using a brush, a short-pile lambskin roller or a suitable spraying device. At 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity, the drying time before applying the render is around 12 hours.
Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier® must not be applied at substrate and air temperatures below +5 °C. Protect from temperatures below +5 °C until fully dry. Good ventilation shortens drying times. It must not be worked “wet-on-wet”. A final assessment of the substrate is essential.
Profi tip:
Floor coverings, tiles, natural stone, timber, aluminium, glass and other sensitive surfaces must be protected before painting by using water-resistant masking. Clean tools with water after use. Contamination or splashes caused by Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier® should, if possible, be washed off with warm water while still fresh.
Material consumption:
The exact material consumption must be determined on site for the specific project. Indicative values: 0,10 l/m² to 0,15 l/m² per coat. Depending on the condition of the substrate, consumption can vary significantly.
Storage:
Profiplus anti-burn-in barrier® must be stored in closed pails, cool but always frost-free. Frost-free conditions must also be ensured during transport and on site. Always keep opened containers tightly closed. Unopened original containers should not be stored for longer than 12 months.
