The ARDEX TRICOM sealing set can be used in water impact classes W0I, W1I, W2I, and W3I.

DIN 18535 - Sealing of pools and tanks

The ARDEX TRICOM sealing set can be used for sealing pools and tanks indoors and outdoors in water impact class W2B up to 10m water depth, with the exception of ARDEX SKR and ARDEX SKS, which are used in water impact class W1B.

DIN 18531 - Sealing of balconies, loggias, and terraces

The ARDEX TRICOM sealing set can be used for sealing balconies and terraces in conjunction with tiles or slabs.

The ARDEX TRICOM sealing set is suitable for use in moisture exposure classes AB and C according to DIBt building regulations list A part 2 No. 110 and classes A0 and B0 according to ZDB information sheet for bonded waterproofing as well as ETAG 022 waterproofing for walls and ceilings in wet rooms, part 2, waterproofing membranes.

Type

The components of the ARDEX TRICOM sealing set consist of a double-sided laminated polypropylene fleece carrier with a polyurethane carrier layer or a double-sided laminated polypropylene fleece carrier with a polyvinyl chloride carrier layer and a butyl ring.

The material is waterproof, easy to cut with a knife or scissors, integrates well into sealing compounds, does not fold, and has high adhesion to sealing materials.

The low material thickness allows for an almost seamless coating with ARDEX sealing compounds.

The ARDEX SK TRICOM sealing set is sufficiently permeable to diffusion, allowing the underlying sealing compounds to dry and harden.

Preparation of the substrate

The instructions contained in the technical data sheets of ARDEX sealing compounds and ARDEX sealing membranes must be observed.

The joint openings must be sufficiently wide according to their calculated movement and, if necessary, chamfered at the edges to form loops.

Processing

The corners and sleeves are freshly embedded into the previously rolled, folded, or troweled ARDEX sealing compound in accordance with the specifications and immediately pressed firmly with a smoothing trowel or spatula. The ARDEX sealing compound must be the same as that used for the subsequent bonded sealing.

For sealing with the ARDEX SK100 W sealing membrane, ARDEX 7/8 sealing adhesive is to be used for embedding corners and sleeves.

In the overlap area, the sealing tape, corners, and sleeves should be overlapped by at least 5 cm or sealed with the respective sealing compound. Care must be taken to prevent the sealing compound from entering the movement space below.

After installing all necessary parts of the sealing set, the bonded sealing can be started. The second layer of the bonded sealing will rework the corners and sleeves. In the area of the movable zone, e.g., expansion joints, the sealing material must be cut out to the same width.

Prepared for a 12-inch pipe penetration through an existing opening. For larger openings, cut out the necessary recess with scissors or a knife, matching the shape but approximately 8-12 mm smaller in dimension as needed.

Center the recess of the sealing sleeve on the pipe penetration. With even pressure, press the sleeve over the pipe extension or the fully mounted pipe and press it to the substrate. The sealing sleeve is correctly seated if it fits tightly and securely around the pipe with at least 4 mm contact.
