This variant of the Urbanscape Green Roof System is an optimal solution for roof surfaces that only have limited load reserves in the roof structure. With the significantly lighter and narrower Urbanscape Drain Mat, this design is particularly practical for renovation cases, but also for roofs where only a limited construction height is possible.

What is Urbanscape?
The Urbanscape Green Roof System is an innovative lightweight system with a very high water storage capacity. It was specifically designed for easy and quick self-assembly. The main advantage: the roof is immediately green and requires minimal maintenance. The Urbanscape Green Roof System is a complete system consisting of a root protection layer, a drainage system with water storage, a unique, patented mineral wool substrate, and a vegetation layer. The system is tailored to each requirement and delivered directly to the construction site in the necessary material quantities.

Drainage System:

The Urbanscape drainage system with water storage consists of a double-sided drainage and water storage panel made of polystyrene. It has excellent load-bearing capacity and was specifically developed for green roofs. The panels are perforated on one side. When installed with the perforated side facing up, it allows additional water storage during dry periods and rapid drainage of excess water during rainy periods. Additionally, it supplies oxygen to the plant root zone. The Urbanscape drainage system is made of high-quality plastic, making it lighter and more durable than comparable drainage systems.

Green Roll Substrate:

Urbanscape Green Roll substrate is a lightweight roof substrate made from mineral wool fibers. These are bonded using a special process to create a particularly compact and form-stable mat. The product consists exclusively of various mineral rock fibers. The Green Roll substrate provides an excellent growth medium and ensures outstanding water retention and storage.

Vegetation Mat:

The biodegradable vegetation mat consists of 57 different sedum species. The coverage rate upon delivery is up to 95%. The Urbanscape vegetation mats are produced in accordance with the FLL guidelines for planning, execution, and maintenance of roof greening. Sedum plants are capable of storing water in their leaves and are therefore well suited to withstand longer dry periods.

Inspection Shaft
The Urbanscape inspection shaft is installed as part of the Urbanscape green roof system over outlets on extensively vegetated roofs. It simplifies inspection and maintenance of drainage outlets. The shaft consists of a high-quality polypropylene base with a standing surface that distributes the weight, and a lockable cover with an integrated stainless steel filter grid to prevent overflow caused by accumulated material from the roof and to protect against surface water from the vegetation layer. The custom-made inspection shaft also prevents contamination and overgrowth of the outlet by plants.

Edge Profiles and Corner Profiles
The L-profiles are designed to separate vegetation and gravel on extensively vegetated roofs. They can also create boundary strips on a roof without a parapet wall. These are triple-bent, L-shaped gravel strips made of aluminum, perforated for continuous drainage. Each part is 2.5 m long and can be connected with an Urbanscape corner profile. As accessories, flexible Urbanscape corner profiles are available, allowing easy creation of interior or exterior corners on site.
Root Protection Membrane
The Urbanscape root protection membrane is made of black polyethylene LD regenerated material. It is used to protect the waterproofing from damage caused by root growth.
Long-term Fertilizer
A starter fertilizer is always recommended, as it makes the plants more resistant and vigorous and accelerates root establishment. 30-40 g/m² should be applied. We offer the long-term fertilizer in 1 kg, 5 kg, and 20 kg buckets. During maintenance, 2 fertilization applications of 30-40 g/m² each should be performed.
Important Note:
The indicated delivery times are non-binding and approximate unless explicitly agreed upon. Delivery occurs within approximately 7-14 working days. Delivery is only possible Tuesday to Thursday. Please note that the product is very sensitive. Plants are freshly harvested for each order and imported from the Netherlands. Longer storage times on the truck, e.g., over the weekend, would significantly damage the product.
