Application Area
- For interior and exterior use
- For walls and floors
- Load classes A, B, and C according to the general technical approval for issuing a general building authority approval
- For wet areas with non-pressurized water, such as bathrooms, showers in residential buildings, hotels, nursing homes, and hospitals
- For balconies and terraces
- For swimming pools
- For sealing beneath ceramic coverings with chemical exposure, such as in breweries, dairies, soft drink industries, slaughterhouses, cold storage rooms, paper mills, laboratories, hospitals, etc.
- On moisture-sensitive absorbent substrates, e.g., gypsum plasters, gypsum boards, fiber gypsum boards, plasterboard, e.g., Rigips, wood chipboards, anhydrite screeds in humid and wet rooms with household use
- On mineral absorbent substrates, e.g., concrete, screed, cement plaster, aerated concrete, cement-based wall putty, such as PCI Pericret, PCI Nanocret FCR2, R3, R4, and self-leveling compensating mortars, e.g., PCI Periplan
- With general building authority approvals
- For steam cabins
- As waterproofing under parquet coverings in private bathrooms, moisture exposure class A0
Substrate Preparation
- The substrate must be solid, dry, free of dust, grease, and other residues. If necessary, remove these by sandblasting, shot blasting, or bead blasting (Blastrac) to ensure a clean surface.
- The surface should be largely even; if necessary, level using PCI Periplan, PCI Pericret, or PCI Nanocret FCR2, R3, R4. The surface must not contain nests, large cracks, or burrs.
- Gypsum-containing substrates and gypsum boards must be primed with PCI Gisogrund, undiluted.
- Suction substrates, such as mineral substrates, should be primed with PCI Gisogrund diluted 1:1 with water.
- Dry, securely screwed wooden chipboards should be primed with PCI Wadian. Primers must be dry before applying PCI Pecilastic W.
Application
- Lay PCI Pecilastic W and cut to size with a utility knife or scissors.
- Apply PCI Flexmörtel or PCI Flexmörtel Schnell, PCI Nanolight, or PCI Nanoflott Light to the prepared substrate according to technical guidelines, using a 4 mm or 6 mm notched trowel.
- Within the open time of approximately 30 minutes for PCI Flexmörtel, PCI Nanolight, and PCI Nanoflott Light, or approximately 20 minutes for PCI Flexmörtel Schnell, lay the PCI Pecilastic W membranes and press them in. Overlaps should be about 5 to 10 cm.
- Seal overlaps with PCI Seccoral 1K2K Rapid waterproofing adhesive. Apply PCI Seccoral 1K2K Rapid in the overlap area without gaps onto the PCI Pecilastic W membrane, and press the second membrane overlap into place within the open time.
- Seal corner joints and wall-floor transitions with PCI Pecitape 120. Attach PCI Pecitape with PCI Seccoral 1K2K Rapid onto PCI Pecilastic W and wall connections, pressing firmly.
- For moderate moisture exposure, e.g., residential areas, bonding overlaps and sealing strips can also be done with PCI Lastogum or PCI Pecitape Bond.
- After the curing of the thin-bed mortar (approx. 12 hours for PCI Flexmörtel S1 or PCI Nanoflott Light, approx. 5 hours for PCI Nanolight, approx. 3 hours for PCI Flexmörtel S1 Rapid), the top layer can be installed.
Installation of Ceramic and Natural Stone Coverings on PCI Pecilastic W
- Suitable installation mortars: PCI Carraflott NT, PCI Carraflex, PCI Carralight, PCI Flexmörtel S1, PCI Flexmörtel S1 Rapid, PCI Nanolight, PCI Nanoflott Light, PCI Rapidfug
Jointing Material
- PCI Flexfug, PCI Nanofug Premium, PCI Nanofug, PCI DuraPox NT, PCI Carrafug, PCI Rapidfug
Elastic Jointing
- Movement and connection joints in ceramic coverings are sealed with PCI Silcoferm S; in natural stone coverings with PCI Carraferm elastically.
Application of PCI Pecilastic W for Waterproofing under Parquet in Private Bathrooms
- First, seal the floor-wall joint. Apply SMP Parquet Adhesive PCI PAR 365 with a suitable notched trowel (e.g., A1 according to TKB) to the floor and the lower wall area (about 6 cm wide or high).
- Press pre-formed special internal corners PCI Pecitape 90° or special external corners PCI Pecitape 90° A into the fresh adhesive in the floor-wall corners.
- Then, press PCI Pecitape 120 sealing tape into the floor-wall transition and press firmly.
- Next, attach the flexible waterproofing membranes PCI Pecilastic W, cut to size with a utility knife or scissors, fully covering the area and overlapping overlaps by about 5 to 10 cm, bonding with PCI PAR 365 onto the prepared substrate. Use an appropriate notched trowel, e.g., A1 according to TKB.
- Press the membranes into the fresh adhesive bed with a cork board. Once the adhesive has cured sufficiently (about 1 day), a parquet approved by the manufacturer for installation in bathrooms can be glued onto the sealed surface with PCI PAR 365.
