Water-based specialised coating against the bleeding of wood extractives

Application area:

Priming and intermediate coating
Wood indoors and outdoors
Moderately porous wooden components: e.g. windows and doors
Limited porous wooden components: e.g. folding shutters, profiled boards, garden sheds
Non-porous wooden components: e.g. fences, half-timbered structures, carports, wooden claddings

Reduces yellow discolouration caused by water-soluble wood extractives in light-coloured topcoats

Application:

Material, ambient and substrate temperature: min. +5 °C to max. +30 °C
Apply a second coat after drying.
Mix material thoroughly.
Apply by brushing, rolling, or spraying.
Airless spraying: Nozzle: 0.28 - 0.33 mm, Material pressure: 70 - 90 bar.
Airmix spraying: Nozzle: 0.28 - 0.33 mm, Material pressure: 70 - 90 bar, Atomising air pressure: 1 - 2 bar.
Conventional spray gun: Nozzle: 1.8 - 2.0 mm, Atomising air pressure: 2 - 2.5 bar
Perform further work steps after drying
Process undiluted material.
Check compatibility with the substrate and isolating effect by trial application.
Ensure adequate ventilation when working indoors.
Drying time: approx. 1 hour
Sanding: approx. 4 hours
Recoat: approx. 12 hours
Practical values at 20 °C and 65 % relative humidity.
Shortening of drying times results in poorer isolating effect.
Lower temperatures, reduced air exchange, and high humidity delay drying and reduce the isolating effect.
