Application area:
weber.san 161 is suitable for permanent renovation of damp and salt-affected surfaces. Due to its low capillary conductivity, good water vapour permeability and high pore volume, weber.san 161 provides the ideal substrate for the top render matched to the system, e.g. weber.star 261 trowel and scratch render light. The renovation render can be painted in interior areas with all mineral paints from weber. When used externally, a mineral weber top render must generally be applied over weber.san 161.

Product description:
weber.san 161 is a factory-produced, mineral dry mortar in accordance with DIN EN 998-1.

Composition:
Cement, graded mineral aggregates, organic lightweight aggregates, additives for improved workability, additives for improved adhesion

Product properties:

• salt-resistant

Grain size: < 1 mm
Shades: natural white
Application thickness: min. 20 mm

Water requirement: approx. 8,5 l / 30 kg

Storage: When stored in a dry place and protected from moisture, the material is suitable for storage for up to 1 year.

Surface preparation:

• The render substrate must be free from dust, efflorescence and loose particles.
• Dry or highly absorbent substrates must be pre-wetted and, if necessary, pre-sprayed with the pre-spraying mortar weber.san 160 WTA.

Application:
machine-applied: is ideally suited for machine application (see equipment planner).
hand-applied: Thoroughly mix the contents of one bag with the specified amount of water until a workable consistency is achieved.

• Apply the mortar to the specified thickness (min. 20mm).
• For highly absorbent and/or differently absorbent substrates, work must be carried out in two coats, wet-on-wet. The application thickness of the first coat should be 2/3 of the total render thickness.
• Screed off the freshly applied render mortar straight and level, without leaving any voids.
• Process the surface of the base render according to the further coating planned.
