Product description:
weber.cal 178 is a factory-produced, mineral dry mortar in accordance with DIN EN 998-1.

Composition:
White lime hydrate, Hydraulic lime, high-quality white fillers, air-entraining agent, cellulose

Product properties:

Quality assurance:
weber.cal 178 is subject to continuous quality control through in-house monitoring in accordance with DIN EN 998-1

General notes:

• No additives may be mixed into the mortar.
• During application and drying of the render mortar, the temperature of the air, the materials used and the substrate must not fall below + 5° C.
• The freshly applied render must be protected from rain, among other things to avoid efflorescence, and from rapid moisture loss to ensure optimum hardening.
• DIN 18 350 VOB, Part C and DIN 18 550 apply for use and execution.
• Consumption may vary depending on the type of substrate and the method of application. The exact consumption values must be determined by test areas on site. Consumption information refers to the minimum render thickness.
• Adjacent structural elements must be separated from the render system.

Application thickness: 1 mm
Water requirement: approx. 11 l / 25 kg
Storage: When stored dry and protected from moisture, the material is suitable for storage for up to 1 year.

Substrate preparation:

• Remove dirt, dust, loose particles and substances that impair adhesion; if necessary, clean with high-pressure water jet or wet sand-blast.
• For unsuitable render backgrounds (e.g. deviations from DIN 1053 "masonry" or DIN 18 202 "tolerances in building construction"), concerns must be raised and remedial action taken.
• The base render must have a standing time of at least 1 day/mm.

Application:
machine-applied: The mortar can be processed with all standard fine render machines (see equipment planner).
by hand: Thoroughly mix the contents of one bag with the specified amount of water until a consistency suitable for application is achieved. For better pre-mixing, it is advisable to use a suitable mixing device.

• First apply approx. 0,5 mm and level out over the surface.
• Then apply to the total render thickness of 1 mm, fresh-to-fresh, and trowel smooth after an appropriate standing time.
• To achieve an elegant surface finish, it can be finished with an additional water coat.
