Application Areas

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be clean, dry, firm, and load-bearing. It must be free of coatings and other residues that impair adhesion. Remove heavy contamination and residues that impair adhesion or surface contaminants mechanically by shot blasting, grinding, milling, or degreasing. Remove residues and grease with PCI Degreaser. Fill cracks and holes with suitable PCI Repair Mortars. Seal cracks with PCI Apogel. Rigidly fix cracks in the prepared surface with PCI Repair Mortars. The peel strength of the prepared surface must not be less than 10 N/mm on average.

Application of PCI Periplan

Mix 25 kg PCI Periplan with clean, cold water in a stable, round container approximately 35 cm in diameter and sufficiently high, with a capacity of about 30 liters. Add PCI Periplan and mix with a suitable stirrer or mixing tool, e.g., from Collomix, attached to a powerful drill, for at least 3 minutes until lump-free. Let the mixed PCI Periplan mature for about 3 minutes and stir briefly again.

For large surfaces up to approximately 300 m², e.g., with the Collomatic forced mixer XM or in pump application, e.g., with Putzmeister SP 11 MP 25 with PFT G 4 re-mixer, Swing L with Rotomix, Multimix, or MTec Duo Mix 2000, other suitable mixing pumps are available in technical data. When using the Collomatic forced mixer XM, use the driver for liquid screeds. Prepare water, add PCI Periplan, and mix for at least 3 minutes.

Pour PCI Periplan onto the dried, primed substrate and distribute with a fine hair roller, trowel, or float to the required layer thickness of 2 to 30 mm.

During installation, level and vent PCI Periplan with a notched roller. For floor leveling with PCI Periplan combined with PCI Armiermatte GFM and GFS, ensure a minimum layer thickness of 5 mm. Pour PCI Periplan onto the dried primer and the installed PCI Armiermatten, distribute with a spatula, do not use a roller, and vent with a notched roller.

During processing and curing, avoid drafts, strong temperature influences, and direct sunlight for approximately 24 hours.

Ceramic coverings can be laid after walkability of PCI Periplan, approximately 3 hours at 23°C and 50% relative humidity, with PCI laying materials. For other laying materials, check the suitability of these products through a preliminary test.
