ROMPOXreg; D1 Paver Joint Mortar – durable, weed-free, water-permeable

The Paver Joint Mortar ROMPOXreg; D1 is the perfect solution for the permanent and low-maintenance jointing of paving surfaces in outdoor areas. As a high-quality 2-component paving joint mortar, it is ideally suited for heavily trafficked areas such as driveways, courtyards, or parking lots – even with occasional heavy load traffic.

Thanks to its special formulation, the joint mortar for driveways is particularly pressure-resistant and reliably prevents washout of joint material. The mortar is weed-inhibiting and thus reduces maintenance effort to a minimum – for clean surfaces without chemical agents. Additionally, it is water-permeable, which effectively prevents dust accumulation and allows the ground to breathe – environmentally friendly and frost-resistant.

The application is straightforward: ROMPOXreg; D1 can be easily worked in and becomes walkable and load-bearing after a short period. Whether for new jointing or renovation – this joint mortar impresses with durability, functionality, and a well-maintained appearance.

Application:
Construction site requirements: The substrate should be prepared according to the expected traffic load. The regulations and guidelines for the production of paving surfaces must be observed. Excessive loads must not cause settlement of the surface or loose stones. The use of "ROMEXreg; TRASSBETTUNG – the frost-resistant grout mortar" is ideal.

Preparation:
Clean joints to a minimum depth of 30 mm. Minimum joint width 3 mm. The surface to be jointed must be thoroughly cleaned of any dirt before jointing. Adjacent, non-jointed surfaces are to be masked.

Priming:
Prime the surface. Absorbent surfaces and higher substrate temperatures require more intensive priming.

Mixing:
Pour the entire 25 kg filler component into the mixer and start mixing. During mixing, slowly add the separately supplied 2.5 kg resin/hardener component. After 3 minutes of mixing, add water according to product packaging and mix for at least another 3 minutes. Total mixing time: at least 6 minutes.

Processing:
Pour the mixed joint mortar onto the well-primed surface and carefully work it into the joints with a rubber trowel. To optimize the workability, the mortar should be applied at three to four points within the jointing area. Working time: 20 – 30 minutes at a processing temperature of 20 °C.

Cleaning:
After approximately 10–15 minutes, carefully sweep the surface with a coarse broom and then clean thoroughly with a fine hair broom until all mortar residues are removed from the surface. The correct time for sweeping is reached when no more white streaks form on the surface. Sweep diagonally across the joints. Reused swept material must not be used.

Post-treatment:
The freshly jointed surface should be protected from rain for 12 – 24 hours. The rain protection must not be placed directly on the surface to allow air circulation. During the initial period, a thin film of synthetic resin remains on the surface, intensifying the color and protecting against dirt. This film disappears over time with exposure to weather and abrasion. In case of doubt, create a sample surface before the full jointing process.
