Inspired by nature, the selected raw materials give Schellevis slabs their special colouring and nuance. The product range includes not only slabs and large-format slabs, but also paving stones and numerous building elements such as wall stones, swimming pool edges, block steps, and L-steps. Characteristics and properties
Schellavis slabs and products are manufactured from natural raw materials. The products have a very natural appearance. Color and texture variations, as well as minor dimensional deviations (in accordance with DIN EN 1339,1338), are part of the unique character of our slabs and products. Like all concrete products, Schellevis slabs become lighter in color over time.

The white or extensive crystalline lime efflorescence and condensation that sometimes occurs is not always technically avoidable in concrete products. The practical value of the slabs is not affected insofar as weather influences (e.g., rain), thorough drying, and additional mechanical stress during use cause the efflorescence to disappear within a foreseeable period of time. Lime-cement efflorescence is not a reason
for complaint.

Superficial hairline cracks may occur in special cases (only visible when dry). Such hairline cracks do not impair the utility value if the products otherwise comply with standards and guidelines. Frost damage due to hairline cracks is not to be expected.

Installation
The installation and construction of the substrate must be carried out exclusively in accordance with DIN 18318 and ZTV Wegebau in their latest editions. Please contact us, your installation company, or the planning office responsible for the project.

Our slabs are always conical at the bottom (wider at the bottom than at the top). Depending on the slab size, a continuous joint of 2-15 mm must be created at the bottom. This allows any dimensional tolerances to be compensated for via the joint, the function of the joint is retained, and rain can drain away into the substrate. The slabs are delivered with the top side (air pores at the top) on the pallets and laid in this position. Only the clinker and small paving formats are laid on edge. The distribution of the air pores cannot be influenced, so they may also be located in the edge area. This makes each slab unique. If the weight of the slabs requires it, use appropriately sized vacuum devices. Make sure you use the right suction power and avoid oversizing. Always keep the suction sponge clean during processing to avoid marks from the suction plate on the slabs. Our slabs must not be compacted with a vibrating plate. The 20x20x7 cm format, as well as the clinker and small paving stones, may
be compacted in one direction with a correspondingly high joint filling. We always recommend installation by experienced gardening and landscaping companies.

Grouting
Use quartz sand or other clean grouting material in accordance with DIN 18318 to fill the joints. Sweep in dry weather. Sweep excess jointing material off the slabs and avoid forming piles, as this can lead to discoloration due to the zero components being washed into the smallest pores. We do not recommend jointing with epoxy resin and/or polymer jointing material.

Cleaning and maintenance
Never carry out any necessary cutting work on tiles that have already been laid, and always rinse off any cutting dust promptly with plenty of water and a brush. Do not leave clayey soil, potting soil, or cementitious materials on the slabs. Please note that piles of leaves can release tannic acid on all materials. Possible stains can be removed with Lithofin Outdoor Cleaner. Never clean the slabs with a high-pressure cleaner. This will damage the surface. As a rule, you can carry out maintenance with a street broom. Regular sweeping also prevents the formation of green deposits. In shady areas that do not dry well, we recommend Lithofin Allex to prevent green deposits. This is sprayed onto the dry slabs in spring and fall using a pressure sprayer.
