Prerequisites:
Stable, load-bearing, permanently water-permeable substrate appropriate for the expected loads, joint depth: full joint depth to the rising bedding mortar, joint width: > 8 mm, joint and object temperature: from 3°C, max 25°C

Test surface:
In natural and concrete stone paving, contact between vdw 855 2K Joint Mortar high-compactness and the stone surface can cause visual changes, such as darkening and/or staining. We generally recommend creating a test surface

Preparation:
Clean the surface of the object to be pointed thoroughly

Pre-saturation:
Pre-saturate the surface thoroughly

Mixing joint mortar:
Pre-mix mineral binder mixture, then add the contents of the bottle and mix for 35 minutes. No water should be added to the mixture!

Filling the joints:
Immediately apply the mortar evenly over the surface with a rubber trowel and work it intensively into the joints. When the workability decreases, lightly rinse the mortar with a water spray. It is recommended to carry out the pointing from the highest to the lowest point.

For the production of water-impermeable joints, subsequent compaction of the joint mortar, e.g., with a joint iron or tamper, is absolutely necessary.

Brushing/Cleaning:
Remove excess mortar immediately with a water spray without washing out the joints. Ensure that cleaning is done towards areas not yet pointed and that the stone surface is cleaned as well. Then brush again with a damp coconut broom. Do not sweep mortar residues into still open joints.
