Profiplus Mounting Foam PUR 1K Cartridge

Properties/Application Areas:
Profiplus Mounting Foam PUR 1K Cartridge is a high-quality single-component moisture-curing foam, predominantly closed-cell polyurethane foam for mounting wooden, metal, or plastic window frames, for installing door frames, for insulating filling of roller shutter boxes and gaps between window frames and masonry, for thermal and/or sound insulation of shower trays and bathtubs, for thermal or minimal thermal insulation of
pipelines, for sealing wall penetrations, for bonding roof tiles, as well as for applying thermal insulation in roofs, sanitary, and heating areas. Profiplus Mounting Foam PUR 1K Cartridge is overpaintable and overcoatable.

Profiplus Mounting Foam PUR 1K Cartridge is supplied ready to use in an aerosol can and is also suitable for processing in lower temperature ranges. This type of mounting foam requires moisture to cure. Ambient humidity alone is not sufficient. Therefore, substrates should be well moistened before application. If necessary, also lightly moisten the surface of the foam after application. During multiple foam applications, intermittently moisten.

Depending on moisture availability and temperature, the product becomes tack-free after 15 minutes and can be cut after 30 to 40 minutes. After complete curing, excess foam can be cut away. The cured foam is moisture-resistant, temperature-resistant, aging-resistant, insect-proof, and rot-proof when used as intended.

Profiplus Mounting Foam PUR 1K Cartridge complies with building material class B2 according to DIN 4102 and is CFC-free.

Substrate Requirements:
The substrates must be firm, load-bearing, dry, and free of dust, formwork release agents, other contaminants, or efflorescence. The parts to be foamed must have sufficient stability and be installed properly and professionally.

It is not recommended to bond vibrating or oscillating components with Profiplus Mounting Foam PUR 1K Cartridge.

Processing/Drying:
Profiplus Mounting Foam PUR 1K Cartridge
Before use, shake vigorously for about 30 seconds to homogenize the propellants separated during storage.
Then screw the can onto a standard dispensing gun with a black adapter until it stops. Do not tilt or overturn the can.
By pressing the trigger, the foam is ready for use. The desired bead thickness can be adjusted via the dosing screw.
By pressing the trigger, the foam is dispensed and, after curing, forms a semi-rigid foam that adheres excellently to concrete, plaster, masonry, wood, and many plastics, but not to polyethylene, PTFE, and silicone rubber. Keep the can with the valve always upright and fill the space up to half with foam, as the foam expands to two to three times the volume applied.

Do not clean the gun with water or disassemble it. If the can is stuck to the coupling, carefully and without force loosen it. Explosion hazard. For further instructions, please refer to the usage instructions of the mounting gun.

Profiplus Mounting Foam PUR 1K Cartridge should not be processed below 5°C substrate and air temperature. To achieve optimal processing results, it is recommended to pre-warm the foam in hand-warm water to at least 10°C to 15°C before use. Use only hand-warm water.
From a container/material temperature of 50°C, there is a risk of bursting. The ideal processing temperature is 20°C.

Pro Tip:
Plastic, wood, aluminum, glass, floor coverings, and all other sensitive surfaces should be protected with waterproof masking tape before foaming.
Prepare PU cleaner. Remove contamination immediately with PU cleaner. Clean tools thoroughly.
When installing door frames, insert the band supports and lock up to a maximum height of 50 mm at the fastening points. Keep the spreaders in place until full curing, up to 24 hours. A final, site-specific assessment is always essential.
Processing at temperatures below 20°C results in a longer curing time for the spreaders.

Material Consumption:
Theoretical yield at 20°C ambient temperature: 42 liters
Yield for a 2 cm thick bead: 42 linear meters
The exact material requirement must be determined on-site.

Storage:
Profiplus Mounting Foam PUR 1K Cartridge should be stored in a cool, frost-free environment. Frost-free storage must also be ensured during transport and on-site. Original packaging can be stored for 18 months.

Notes on return obligation for packaging material

According to the current Packaging Act, section 15 paragraph 1 sentence 1 VerpackG, we are obliged to take back the following packaging materials free of charge from end consumers:

• Transport packaging, such as pallets, large packaging, etc.,
• Sales and secondary packaging that typically do not become waste from private end consumers after use,
• Sales and secondary packaging for which, due to system incompatibility, participation in a system is not possible according to section 7 paragraph 5, and
• Sales packaging containing hazardous substances, or
• Reusable packaging

When delivering the product, appropriate packaging material is used, which we take back free of charge. This ensures the return of packaging material into the recycling cycle. By informing about return options, better results can be achieved in the return of packaging, and a contribution to fulfilling European recycling targets according to Directive 94/62/EC is ensured.

You can return the packaging material as an end consumer at the place of actual transfer or in its immediate vicinity.

If an environmentally and health-compatible return of sales packaging containing hazardous substances, as well as sales and secondary packaging for which participation in a system is not possible due to system incompatibility, is not possible at the place of actual transfer or nearby, the return can also be made at a central collection point according to section 15 paragraph 2 VerpackG, provided it is at a reasonable distance from the place of actual transfer and accessible during the trader's normal business hours.
