Product

The fermacell Edge Insulation Strips MF are used for sound decoupling of fermacellTM floor systems from adjacent structures.

Properties

• Non-combustibility, building material class A1, non-combustible stone wool with a melting point above 1,000°C
• High compressive strength, high-strength stone wool
• High thermal and sound insulation, low thermal conductivity, and low dynamic stiffness
• Quick and easy installation, fast and trouble-free laying
• Recyclability, stone wool can be processed and reintroduced into the production cycle as a raw material

Processing

First, determine the prefabrication height of the fermacell floor system and transfer it to the surrounding walls using a leveling device. Position the fermacell Edge Insulation Strips MF against the wall or fix them to the wall with mounting adhesive or clips. When laying the screed elements, ensure that the insulation strip is not compressed.

The top edge of the insulation strip should be at least 5 mm above the prefabrication height of the screed. Excess material should be cut off after laying the surface covering, e.g., tiles. If necessary, the height of the insulation strips can be varied by applying two strips on top of each other.
