The fermacell screed adhesive is a single-component adhesive for commercial users based on a moisture-curing polyurethane. During the curing process, the adhesive foams; in the hardened state, it is extremely hard.

Application:
The fermacell screed adhesive is suitable for bonding fermacell floor systems in the following areas:

• for step joint bonding of fermacell gypsum fiber and Powerpanel TE screed elements
• for bonding an additional 3-layer fermacell gypsum fiber boards on gypsum fiber screed elements or a 3-layer fermacell Powerpanel H2O on fermacell Powerpanel TE
• for on-site installation of fermacell gypsum fiber dry screed

Processing:

Bonding the step joints of fermacell gypsum fiber or Powerpanel TE screed elements involves applying two adhesive beads with a diameter of approximately 5 mm onto the joints of the fermacell screed or Powerpanel TE elements. The special double nozzle allows for application of the adhesive in a single step. Within 10 minutes, the next screed element can be placed in the joint area and screwed or clamped. The maximum distance of the fasteners is approximately:

• fermacell Schnellbauschrauben
  20 cm for fermacell screed elements
• fermacell Powerpanel TE screws
  15 cm for fermacell Powerpanel TE
• Special expansion clips
  15 cm for fermacell screed elements or fermacell Powerpanel TE

The fermacell screed adhesive cures after approximately 24 hours at 20 °C and 50 % relative humidity and can then be removed with the fermacell adhesive remover or a putty knife or chisel. Full load capacity must only be applied after complete curing of the fermacell screed adhesive.

Bonding 3 layers

To increase load capacity for individual and live loads, an additional 3-layer fermacell gypsum fiber boards with a thickness of 10 or 12.5 mm or fermacell Powerpanel H2O with a thickness of 12.5 mm can be applied.

For laying the 3 layers, the fermacell screed adhesive is applied to the already laid screed elements. The adhesive beads with a diameter of approximately 5 mm are applied at a maximum spacing of 100 mm. The consumption is approximately 130–150 g/m².

The 3-layer boards are arranged rotated by 90 degrees relative to the laid screed elements. The 3-layer is to be laid in running bond with a joint offset of at least 200 mm from each other and from the screed elements. The bonding of the boards to the screed elements must be completed within 10 minutes after applying the adhesive. Additionally, the boards of the 3-layer must be fixed with fermacell Schnellbauschrauben in a grid of 250 x 250 mm or fermacell Powerpanel TE screws in a grid of 200 x 200 mm or with special expansion clips.

For bonding the butt joints, it is necessary to apply the first adhesive bead a maximum of 10 mm from the edge of the previously laid fermacell gypsum fiber or fermacell Powerpanel H2O board.
