Substrate preparation:

• The substrate must be clean, dry, firm, and load-bearing. It must be free of coatings and other adhesion-reducing residues such as wax.
• The moisture content of wooden substrates must not exceed the equilibrium moisture content of 6 to 12% by weight, depending on the type of wood material.
• Wooden particleboards or OSB boards may have a maximum moisture content of 10%. The particleboard V 100 E1 or OSB board must be at least 25 mm thick and fixed to the substructure with a maximum spacing of 40 cm. The edge joint must be at least 8 mm. For particleboards, the edges must be glued. For board thicknesses under 25 mm and beam spacing over 40 cm, additional reinforcement with PCI Armiermatte is required.
• Loose, springy, or creaking boards must be fixed by screwing. Solid wood substrates must be sanded and thoroughly vacuumed. Joints, cracks, and holes should be sealed with PCI Adaptol. Wall joints should be sealed with the self-adhesive edge strip PCI Pecitape Silent.
• Heavily contaminated or corroded metal surfaces must be pretreated by sandblasting or grinding and, if necessary, protected against corrosion.

Priming:

• Use PCI Gisogrund 404 for priming. Shake the container thoroughly before processing.

Processing of PCI Periplan Extra:

1. Prepare cool mixing water for 25 kg of PCI Periplan Extra in a round, sufficiently high mixing bucket approximately 35 cm in diameter. Add PCI Periplan Extra and mix with a suitable stirrer or mixing attachment on a powerful drill for at least 3 minutes until free of lumps.
2. Pour PCI Periplan Extra onto the dried, hardened primer. Distribute with a trowel or smoothing spatula to the required layer thickness.
3. During installation, level and de-aerate PCI Periplan Extra with a notched roller.
4. During processing and curing, avoid drafts, strong heat exposure, and direct sunlight for approximately 12 hours.
5. Ceramic coverings can be laid after about 1 day using the following PCI laying materials on PCI Periplan Extra:
   PCI Flexmörtel, PCI Nanolight, PCI Flexmörtel Schnell, PCI Nanoflott light, PCI Rapidflott
   For natural stones, use PCI Carraflex, PCI Carralight, PCI Carrament, or PCI Carraflott NT.
   When using other laying materials, their suitability should be verified through a preliminary test.
6. Depending on substrate and climate conditions, the laying readiness for carpets is reached after about 1 day, for vapor-tight coverings after about 3 days.
