GRAF Telescopic Manhole
As an accessory for GRAF rainwater flat tanks:
The telescopic manhole allows for infinitely adjustable fitting of the container to existing ground surfaces between 455 mm and 655 mm for Telescopic Manhole Mini or between 455 mm and 755 mm for Telescopic Manhole Maxi earth cover. For installation, the profile seal made of EPDM material of the tank dome should be generously lubricated with soap solution; do not use lubricants based on mineral oil, as they can damage the seal. Subsequently, the telescopic section is also greased, inserted, and aligned with the ground surface.
Walk-in telescopic manhole
Important: To prevent transferring loads onto the container, the telescopic section must be filled in layers with rounded gravel maximum grain size 8/16 and evenly compacted. Damage to the container tank dome or telescopic section must be avoided. Finally, the cover is placed and securely locked with child safety; the screw connection on the cover must be tightened so that it cannot be opened by a child!
Car-accessible telescopic manhole
When the container is installed in areas accessible to cars, the telescopic section in anthracite color must be supported with concrete load class B25 250 kg/m. The concrete layer to be filled must be at least 300 mm wide and approximately 200 mm high all around. The permissible earth cover over the tank shoulder is at least 700 mm and at most 1000 mm. To extend the tank dome by 315 mm, the Telescopic Manhole Guss/ Begu with a maximum usable length of 440 mm and the intermediate section with a maximum usable length of 300 mm are available.
Attention: Use the cast cover exclusively.
Truck-accessible telescopic manhole
When installed under areas accessible to trucks, the telescopic section must be supported as described in point 73. Subsequently, the concrete rings 600 mm and a cast frame with star-shaped load distribution for the cast cover are installed. The cast frame must have a bearing surface of approximately 1 m. To extend the shaft, the Truck-accessible Telescopic Manhole D cover must be provided on site, with a maximum usable length of 440 mm and the intermediate section with a maximum usable length of 300 mm.
Attention: Truck accessibility only in combination with a self-supporting, reinforced concrete slab!
Install intermediate section
If an intermediate section is required for larger earth covers, it is inserted into the tank dome using soap solution. The profile seal is placed into the top groove of the intermediate section and generously greased. Then, insert the Telescopic Manhole and adjust it to the planned ground surface.
1 intermediate section, maximum earth cover 955 mm or 1055 mm in combination with the Telescopic Manhole Mini or Maxi.
