For the underground waterproofing of basement floors and foundations. Furthermore, the waterproofing can be applied under screeds for intermediate sealing of non-residential balconies or terraces. The product can also be used for bonding polystyrene rigid foam boards.

Substrate preparation

The substrate must be frost-free, solid, clean, sufficiently dry, and free of tar, pitch, nests, and cracking as well as ridges and other contaminants. Water-repellent and adhesion-reducing components must be removed. Edges should be broken. Corners, both horizontal and vertical, should be rounded with webertec 933. Joints and depressions larger than 5 mm should be sealed with a webertec 933 spatula.

Priming

webertec 901 is diluted 1:10 with water. Porous concrete and sandy substrates should be primed with weberprim 900.

Mixing

The base material and powder component are proportionally matched and mixed with a powerful stirring device at a minimum of 600 rpm and paddle No. 4 to form a homogeneous, lump-free mass. The powder should be added gradually during mixing. The mixing time should be at least 3 minutes, ensuring that even corner areas are mixed homogeneously.

Scraping plaster

To seal pores and cavities as well as open joints up to 5 mm wide, a full-surface scraping plaster with the thick coating should be applied. The scraping plaster must not be disturbed by the subsequent waterproofing layer.

Surface waterproofing

The application is carried out in at least 2 coats. The second coat should be applied as soon as possible after the first coat, once it is no longer tacky. For non-penetrating water W1E, coats can be applied wet-on-wet. For non-penetrating water on underground ceilings W3E and penetrating water W21E, after the first coat, weber sys 981 is worked into the fresh waterproofing layer.

For waterproofing of the basement against non-penetrating water W1E, the coating is applied on the basement floor. After drying, a 2-layer polyethylene foil is laid as protection and slip layer, and the floating screed is applied on top. For basement waterproofing against penetrating water W21E, the thick coating is applied under incorporation of weber sys 981 on the clean surface layer.
