ARDEX X 90 MicroteC3 flexible adhesive 25kg
Areas of application:
For indoor and outdoor use. Wall and floor.
To produce a flexible adhesive bed.
For setting and laying
- tiles made of earthenware, stoneware and porcelain stoneware
- mosaic made of glass and porcelain
- concrete terrazzo slabs
- natural stone slabs that are insensitive to moisture
Laying tiles and slabs
- on balconies and terraces
- in swimming pools
- in high-load industrial and commercial areas
For bonding ceramic claddings to facades.
For setting and laying tiles on still shrinking substrates made of concrete and masonry (at least 3 months old).
Tiling onto heated screeds.
Type:
Powder with cements, fillers, special additives, MICROTEC fibres and plastics with flexible properties.
When mixed with water, a workable, paste-like adhesive mortar with high stand-up stability is obtained. Processing time is approx. 60 minutes. The mortar hardens through hydration and drying.
Preparing the substrate:
The dry or damp substrate must be firm, load-bearing, dimensionally stable, free from dust, contamination or release agents.
Gypsum substrates as well as absorbent or sanded anhydrite screeds must be dry and must be primed with ARDEX P 51 bonding and primer dispersion, or ARDEX P 52 primer concentrate diluted 1:3 with water.
For the interior, metal, glass, paint coatings, coatings and similar substrates must be primed with ARDEX P 82 resin primer.
In the interior, existing tile coverings must be primed with ARDEX P 4 fast multi-purpose primer, or primed for exterior and interior use or pre-filled thinly with ARDEX X 90.
In permanently wet areas and in exterior applications, ARDEX sealing compounds must be applied to tile coverings as an adhesion bridge and for waterproofing.
Tiling with ARDEX X 90 is carried out after the primer, adhesion bridge and pre-filling have dried.
Application:
Add clean water to a clean mixing vessel and mix in as much ARDEX X 90 OUTDOOR powder as needed to obtain a lump-free, workable, paste-like mortar. For improved workability, the mortar should be stirred once again before application to the substrate.
To mix 25 kg of ARDEX X 90 powder, approx. 8.5 litres of water are required.
The mortar consistency can be adjusted depending on the type, size and weight of the coverings to be laid.
For producing a special adhesive with high deformation capability and water-repellent properties, mix ARDEX X 90 OUTDOOR powder with ARDEX E 90 resin modification diluted with water in a ratio of 1:2.
The mixing ratio is approximately:
- 25 kg ARDEX X 90 powder
- 3,3 kg ARDEX E 90
- 6,6 kg water.
The ARDEX X 90 mortar is applied to the substrate and combed using a notched trowel in such a way that full-surface bonding of the tiles or slabs is ensured. The substrate, type, size and the back of the tiles determine the choice of notched trowel. Rough and uneven substrates can be pre-filled with ARDEX X 90. After the smoothing layer has set, installation can take place.
The laying areas may in each case only be as large as needed so that tiles and slabs can be lightly placed into the paste-like, moist mortar bed within the fixing time of up to 30 Min.
Tiles can be corrected up to 20 minutes after setting.
When bonding thermal insulation and insulating boards, apply the mortar in strips or dabs to the back of the boards. If the boards to be bonded have no open pores, the surface must be mechanically roughened beforehand.
When laying mosaic made of glass, porcelain and ceramic, the mortar must be applied with a 3 mm or 4 mm notch depending on the substrate conditions. The mosaic is placed into the still-fresh adhesive and pressed down so that sufficient wetting is achieved. If necessary, rake out the joints. For grouting, use cementitious ARDEX jointing mortars appropriate to the application area and use. In wet areas, use ARDEX RG 12 1-6.
In case of doubt, carry out test bonds.
Apply ARDEX X 90 at temperatures above + 5°C.
Higher temperatures shorten, lower temperatures extend the time available for processing and loading.
