The Urbanscape Detention Green Roof is an innovative, easy-to-install green roof concept designed primarily to maximize rainwater retention while optimizing rainwater detention — the delay of water runoff during peak rainfall.

The Urbanscape Detention Green Roof has been evaluated and tested by Green Roof Diagnostics.

This green roof system is a pioneer in rainwater detention, i.e., delaying water runoff for optimal rainwater management on roofs. It is the perfect solution for short, intense storms with limited rainwater volume. It features a delayed water runoff and reduces runoff intensity to meet rainwater retention requirements during design storms.

Green roofs generally provide rainwater retention, meaning they absorb water, preventing runoff and allowing it to exit only through evapotranspiration processes. However, water retention is not always effective, as it fills the entire storage capacity of the green roof and then requires time to dry out, creating space for new rain. The Urbanscape Detention Green Roof, on the other hand, first absorbs and retains water while slowing down water flow but still allows it to drain. The additional retention layer in the Urbanscape Detention Green Roof significantly increases friction and slows water runoff, ensuring the roof is always ready for the next storm.

Control Shaft
The Urbanscape control shaft is installed as part of the Urbanscape green roof system via the outlets on extensively vegetated roofs. It simplifies inspection and maintenance of drainage outlets. The shaft consists of a high-quality polypropylene base with a standing surface that distributes weight, and a lockable cover with an integrated stainless steel filter grid to prevent overflow caused by accumulated material from the green roof and to protect against surface water from the vegetation layer. The custom-made control shaft also prevents contamination and overgrowth of the outlet by plants.

Edge Profiles and Corner Profiles
The L-profiles are designed to separate vegetation and gravel on extensively vegetated roofs. They can also create boundary strips on a roof without a parapet wall. The triple-bent, L-shaped gravel strip made of aluminum is perforated for permanent drainage. Each part is 2.5 m long and can be connected with an Urbanscape corner profile. As accessories, flexible Urbanscape corner profiles are available for easy on-site creation of interior or exterior corners.

Root Protection Membrane
The Urbanscape root protection membrane is made of black LDPE recycled polyethylene. It is used to protect the waterproofing from damage caused by root growth.

Long-term Fertilizer
A starter fertilizer is always recommended, as it makes plants more resistant and vigorous and accelerates root establishment. It should be applied at 30-40 g/m². For maintenance, two fertilization applications of 30-40 g/m² each are recommended. We offer the long-term fertilizer in 1 kg, 5 kg, and 20 kg buckets.

Important Note:
The indicated delivery times are non-binding and approximate unless explicitly agreed otherwise. Delivery occurs within approximately 7-14 working days. Delivery is only possible Tuesday to Thursday. Please note that the product is very sensitive. Plants are freshly harvested for each order and imported from the Netherlands. Longer storage times on the truck, e.g., over the weekend, would significantly damage the product.
