PCI Pecimor F Bitumen Primer for Basement Exteriors and Foundations

Product Properties

Application Area

• Suitable for interior and exterior use
• For walls and floors
• As a primer according to DIN 18 195 for PCI Pecimor and PCI Pecithene
• To protect components against aggressive water-soluble salts in concrete according to DIN 40301
• As a primer for bitumen sheet membranes

Substrate Preparation

• Suitable substrates include dense concrete with a minimum strength class of C 12/15 according to DIN EN 206, plaster CS IV according to DIN EN 998-1, fully bonded masonry made of clay bricks, lightweight hollow bricks, calcium silicate bricks, lightweight concrete, and concrete hollow blocks, porous concrete
• For priming a building waterproofing with bituminous coating on concrete substrates, PCI Pecimor Betongrund should be used
• The substrate must be firm, level, and fine-pored on the surface. It must be free of nests, open cracks, ridges, dust, tar, pitch, old coatings, or other adhesion-reducing layers. The substrate should be dry or only slightly moist. Edges should be broken back
• Corners should be rounded with a radius of at least 4 cm using PCI Polyfix Plus L or PCI Nanocret R2

Application as Primer for PCI Pecimor 1K, 2K, and PCI Pecithene

• Pre-mix the entire contents of the PCI Pecimor F container
• When used as a primer for PCI Pecimor 1K or 2K, transfer PCI Pecimor F into a suitable container and dilute with 5 parts water to 1 part PCI Pecimor F, then mix thoroughly
• When used as a primer for PCI Pecithene on substrates with temperatures from 10 °C to 30 °C, dilute PCI Pecimor F with 1:1 water and mix thoroughly. At 5 °C to 10 °C, use PCI Pecimor F undiluted

Application

• Apply evenly to the substrate using a painter's brush, roller, or airless spray equipment
• After the primer has dried, apply PCI Pecimor or PCI Pecithene bituminous coating or cold self-adhesive bitumen membrane

Application as Bitumen Protective Coating on Concrete Substrates

• Mix PCI Pecimor F with a suitable mixing tool attached to a slow-running drill at approximately 400 rpm
• Apply the first coat evenly and thoroughly to the concrete substrate using a painter's brush, roller, or airless spray
• After approximately 1 hour of drying, apply a second coat evenly and thoroughly. Protect the fresh coating from rain
