Substrate Preparation

The substrate for subsequent coatings must be clean, dry, solid, load-bearing, free of grease, old coatings, and other residues. Remove heavy contamination, grease, and wax residues mechanically or with PCI Degreaser. The adhesion strength must not be less than 15 N/mm² on average, with a minimum individual value of 10 N/mm². The surface should be pretreated by sandblasting, shot blasting, Blastrac, or grinding. Rough and uneven surfaces should be leveled with scratch filler. Do not apply on rising damp substrates. If necessary, determine the moisture content of the concrete with the CM device. The substrate may only be coated if the residual moisture is less than 4%.

Priming

Use PCI Epoxigrund 390 or PCI Epoxigrund Rapid as primer.

Wear protective gloves and safety goggles during application.

Pour the component fully into the base component and mix intensively with a suitable stirring or mixing tool attached to a slow-running drill (approx. 400 rpm) for about 3 minutes.

Apply PCI Epoxigrund 390 or PCI Epoxigrund Rapid in sections onto the pretreated substrate and brush or roller evenly.

Leveling and Fine Smoothing

For rough surfaces or uneven substrates, perform a leveling with PCI Epoxigrund 390 or PCI Epoxigrund Rapid mixed with dry quartz sand (grain size 0.1 to 0.4 mm, e.g., quartz sand F 32) in a ratio of 1:1, and trowel in in layer thickness. After at least 8 hours (PCI Epoxigrund 390) or 3 hours (PCI Epoxigrund Rapid), and within 3 days, seal the primed surface with PCI Supracolor. The primer must be fully cured. Level uneven substrates with PCI Repair or PCI Construction Resin Screed. Repair any cracks or damage with PCI Construction Resin Mortar or PCI Apogel.

Application of PCI Supracolor

Ensure good ventilation. Keep away from ignition sources. Do not smoke. Turn off heating and similar sources during processing. Avoid skin contact; wear suitable protective gloves and goggles if necessary (e.g., during mixing).

Pour the component fully into the base component and mix intensively with a suitable stirrer or mixing tool attached to a slow-running drill (approx. 400 rpm) for at least 3 minutes. PCI Supracolor is immediately processable after mixing.

Process the mixed material within approximately 90 minutes at 23°C. At lower temperatures, the pot life extends; at higher temperatures, it shortens.

Sealing

Thoroughly cover all non-mineral parts (e.g., machinery, wood installations), sealed joints, fired and glazed ceramics before processing PCI Supracolor. Remove dirt immediately with PCI Universal Cleaner.

Apply the first coat with a brush, roller, or spray, using approximately 200–250 ml/m². Distribute excess material evenly to prevent bubble formation. Ensure good ventilation in enclosed spaces.

After at least 8 hours and no later than 24 hours, apply a second coat with a maximum of 200 ml/m² for full coverage. The sealing is walkable after about 8 hours and fully loadable after approximately 4 days.
