Knauf Gigamit Lightweight Render Base with Mineral Lightweight Additives 25kg

Highly yield polymer-modified lime-cement lightweight render with mineral lightweight additives on highly thermally insulating masonry. On non-absorbent or weakly absorbent substrates, a mineral render adhesion bridge is not required. Gigamit with a full-surface fabric reinforcement meets the same specifications as a base coat with an additional, full-surface reinforcement mortar with fabric reinforcement. It can be processed with all common plastering machines, such as the PFT G 4.

Application area:
As a base coat on all types of masonry for interior and exterior use.

• Replaces a base coat with full-surface fabric embedding, which in turn replaces a base coat with an additional, full-surface reinforcement mortar with fabric reinforcement.
• Replaces, as a polymer-modified base coat, the required mineral render adhesion bridge on non-absorbent or weakly absorbent substrates.
• As a base coat for surface plasters in interior and exterior areas
• As a base coat for tiles or paints indoors
• In subordinate rooms as felt plaster

Application:
Apply Gigamit and embed the reinforcement fabric full-surface. Alternatively, approximately 2/3 of the plaster thickness can be applied, embed the reinforcement fabric, and then apply the remaining plaster thickness. The reinforcement fabric must be embedded in the upper third of the base coat. Overlap joints by at least 100 mm. For building openings, an additional diagonal corner reinforcement must be carried out.

Level the surface flat. Remove any existing mortar ridges (at corners and edges) with the grid rasp. By pulling the surface flat, full-surface rasping to remove the sinter layer is not necessary.
