ROMEX JOINT FIXATIVE 1-Component Special Liquid

For natural stone paving, concrete, and clinker paving, specifically to protect against leaching, erosion, and weed growth. Consolidates sand joints. Repairs cracks in private areas.

Properties:

• especially suitable for coated concrete slabs
• processable at substrate temperatures above > 7°C

Application:
The substrate should be prepared according to the expected traffic load. The regulations and information sheets for the construction of paving surfaces must be observed. Excessive loads must not cause settlement of the surface or loose stones. Ideal is the use of ROMEX TRASSBETTUNG, the frost-resistant mortar bed.

Preparation: Clean the joints to a depth of 30 mm. The surface must be thoroughly cleaned of any dirt before consolidation. Adjacent, non-consolidated surfaces are masked.

Pre-distribution: Fill the joints with dry filler material, quartz sand, or crushed stone/split mixture of grain size 0.3 – 1.2 mm, and sweep until the surface of the stones is free of all sand residues.

Application WITH color deepening: Undiluted ROMEX JOINT FIXATIVE is applied directly from the bottle with spray cap, using a spray device such as a garden or spray bottle, until the 30 mm deep joint is saturated.

Pull-off: Immediately afterward, thoroughly remove excess with a double-lipped rubber squeegee. Residues, e.g., in rock depressions, are immediately removed with a damp sponge or cloth. During the initial period, a thin film remains on the stone surface, which intensifies the stone's coloration and protects against dirt. This film disappears with exposure to weather and through abrasion over time. In case of doubt, it is recommended to create a test surface before full jointing. This is especially important for coated concrete stones/sensitive stones!

Application WITHOUT color deepening: Undiluted ROMEX JOINT FIXATIVE is applied directly from the bottle with spray cap, exclusively onto the joint, until the 30 mm deep joint is saturated. Residues on the stone surface are immediately removed with a damp sponge or cloth.

Post-treatment: Protect the freshly consolidated surface from rain for at least 48 hours. The protective cover must not be placed directly on the surface to allow air circulation.
