vdw 495 Adhesive Foam Gray 25kg
vdw 495 Adhesive Foam is a highly plasticized, hydraulically setting, water-impermeable high-quality adhesive for improving adhesion of paving and non-transparent tile coverings such as stoneware joints and natural stones on suitable drainage mortar beds. Test surfaces should be prepared accordingly.
Binding agent: Standard cements with additives, low chromate according to TRGS 613

Processing Data
- Adhesive tensile strength > 20 Nm/2
- Storage stability: 9 months in a dry, frost-free environment
- Mixing ratio of components: 5 or 7 liters of water per 25 kg bag, depending on desired application method
- Processing time: approx. 60 minutes at 20°C after material preparation
- Reworking time: approx. 2 minutes
- Suitable for underfloor heating
- Application temperature: minimum 5°C, maximum 25°C
- Substrate temperature: minimum 5°C, maximum 25°C
Prerequisites
The substructure and load-bearing layer must be sufficiently level, load-bearing, and water-permeable, and must meet the expected load requirements. They must be designed so that no deformation occurs. Application and substrate temperature > 5°C and < 25°C.
Adhesive Foam Mixing
To produce a foam mortar for brushing or dipping, mix vdw 495 Adhesive Foam with a maximum of 7 liters of water per 25 kg of dry mortar with a suitable mixer for about 2 minutes until homogeneous. Refrain from reworking after setting. Reworking time approx. 2 minutes.
To produce a stable mortar for application with a notched trowel, mix vdw 495 Adhesive Foam with a maximum of 5 liters of water per 25 kg of dry mortar with a suitable mixer for about 2 minutes until homogeneous. The prepared mortar must not be reprocessed with water or fresh mortar.
We recommend mixing partial quantities to be used within the specified working time.
Application of Mortar
Apply the prepared adhesive foam evenly and thoroughly to the clean underside of the covering using a brush or by dipping, or with a notched trowel. The laying of the covering with adhesive foam should be carried out in the still fresh bedding mortar ("fresh in fresh"). vdw 495 Adhesive Foam must be protected from rapid drying. The porosity of the bedding in the joint area must be maintained.
Post-Treatment
The following points refer to a temperature of 20°C and 65% relative humidity. High temperatures shorten, low temperatures extend the setting time. Cover the freshly laid tiles for at least 24 hours to prevent drying out. After 24 hours, the tiles are ready for grouting. Mortar can be exposed to full load after 7 days.
Consumption: approx. 1.6 kg/m²/mm
