SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN
Application and Function
SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN is a safe and permanently effective capillary passive composite drainage system. The installation in exterior areas is carried out in a duumlnnbettmoumlrtel over a composite waterproofing membrane applied in the frame, such as SchlauchltersupregsupKERDIppbr.
SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN 4
consists of a closed polyethylene film with approximately 4 mm high conical stub-shaped protrusions on one side, on which a filter fleece is laminated. Some of the formed protrusions are inverted pyramids approximately 2 mm high, creating quadratically intercut chambers on the underside. These chambers serve to anchor the duumlnnbettmoumlrtel, which is applied to the composite waterproofing with a 6 x 6 mm serration and is fully embedded in the SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN. The closely spaced conical stub-shaped protrusions can withstand very high pressure loads up to 50 t/m². The undercut pyramidal stub-shaped protrusions ensure good bonding to the substrate.
SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN 4 is particularly suitable for interior areas and small areas in exterior applications.
Summary of Functions and Applications
The composite construction consists of a primer waterproofing membrane as a laying substrate, the SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN glued onto it, and the directly installed surface layer in the duumlnnbettmoumlrtel. This results in a construction with high load-bearing capacity that meets both waterproofing and passive drainage, ventilation, and decoupling requirements.
Drainage and Ventilation
The ventilation allows for rapid drying of the duumlnnbettmoumlrtel. The capillary passive drainage effect ensures pressureless removal of water in the drainage space and prevents backflow into the surface layer.
Decoupling
SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN decouples the surface from the substrate, thereby neutralizing stresses between substrate and tile covering, which result from different deformation behaviors. It also bridges tension cracks from the substrate and prevents them from transferring into the tile covering.
If the installation substrate does not require waterproofing, e.g., on a drained screed or earth-covered construction, SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN with functions of drainage, ventilation, and decoupling can also be directly glued with the duumlnnbettmoumlrtel onto the substrate.
Processing
Substrates on which SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN is to be installed must generally be checked for flatness, load-bearing capacity, adhesion, and material compatibility. Contaminants that hinder adhesion must be removed. If leveling unevenness or filling gaps or adjusting slopes is necessary, this must be done before applying the waterproofing membrane and laying SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN.
The waterproofing must have a sufficient slope for drainage.
On the previously described substrate, a norm-compliant hydraulically setting duumlnnbettmoumlrtel is applied with a 6 x 6 mm serrated trowel when using DitraDrain 4. For DitraDrain 8, a 3 x 3 mm or 4 x 4 mm serration is recommended. The choice of duumlnnbettmoumlrtel to be glued with SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN must be compatible with the substrate.
For tile materials with a side length of ? 30 cm, a crystalline water-binding tile adhesive is recommended to ensure rapid strength development and drying of the mortar.
The pre-cut SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN rolls are embedded in the applied adhesive and immediately pressed fully into the duumlnnbettmoumlrtel with a notched trowel or a pressing roller. For SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN 4, ensure that the inverted pyramidal chambers are filled with mortar after installation. The open time of the adhesive must be observed.
It is advisable to tension the SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN slightly during laying to ensure straight alignment. The individual rolls are laid end-to-end with a slight overlap and the fleece edges are overlapped.
For cut edges where the fleece edge is missing, the self-adhesive overlap SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAINSTU is available.
To prevent damage to the installed SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN or delamination from the substrate during work, it is recommended to protect it, e.g., by laying planks, especially in traffic areas. Protective measures, e.g., against direct sunlight or precipitation in exterior areas, may also be necessary.
Immediately after gluing the SchlauchltersupregsupDITRADRAIN, tiles or natural stone coverings can be properly installed in the duumlnnbettmoumlrtel process. The surface material must be embedded as fully as possible. The notch depth of the trowel must be matched to the tile format. The open time of the duumlnnbettmoumlrtel must be observed.
In exterior areas, the hydraulic duumlnnbettmoumlrtel and the surface material must be waterproof and weather-resistant.
After walkability, the surface can be grouted with an appropriate joint mortar.
The drainage space at the edge must be covered with a profile, e.g., SchlauchltersupregsupBARART, or a side plate without sealing the drainage joint.
For movement joints as field boundaries, edge and connection joints, the relevant instructions in this data sheet and the applicable professional rules must be observed.
Note: For edge terminations, movement joints, and wall connections, we refer to our profile types SchlauchltersupregsupBARA and SchlauchltersupregsupDILEXp.
