Suitable for all normal and thermal-insulating masonry types such as bricks, aerated concrete, Liapor, etc., as well as prefabricated wall panels and other wall substrates that require an overcoat with a top plaster. Surface pre-treatment may be necessary on various substrates.
As an interior and exterior base coat, and for small-format tiles (60 x 30 cm) in residential buildings and kitchens.
ExecutionSingle-layer application of 15-30 mm with plaster thicknesses of 30-50 mm; for two or more layers, work fully covering the surface with embedded surface reinforcement mesh. Roughen the lower layers with a broom. Allow 1 day per mm of plaster thickness to dry and cure before further work. Alternatively, work in a single layer and after complete drying and curing, allow 1 day per mm of plaster thickness, plus an additional week for each additional centimeter of plaster thickness over 30 mm, using SM700 Pro, SM300, or Lustro to perform a full-surface reinforcement.
PreparationNormal absorbent substrates can be plastered without pre-treatment. For highly absorbent substrates, apply wet-on-wet, laying a 5-10 mm layer first, then apply the second layer wet-on-wet up to the required plaster thickness. For non-absorbent substrates, apply a mineral bonding bridge with SM700 Pro, SM300, SockelSM, or Lustro.
ApplicationFor pre-treated substrates, allow the primer applied to dry completely. Render is usually processed with a mixing pump (e.g., PFT G4/G5) for efficiency and time savings, but can also be applied manually. Distribute the plaster evenly with a trowel or straightedge and smooth after initial setting.
DryingThe finished base coat must be completely dry before further coating. Drying time depends on plaster thickness and environmental conditions such as weather and temperature. To prevent rapid drying, exterior renders should be protected from direct sunlight. Generally, a minimum of 1 day per mm of plaster thickness is required.
