Application Area
- For indoor and outdoor use
- For floors, walls, and ceilings
- Reprofiling of corners and edges of concrete components
- Filling of chasms and holes in screeds, concrete ceilings, staircases, and balcony slabs
- Filling of pipe trenches in concrete walls, hollow spaces between concrete and steel frames, among others
- To level uneven concrete substrates in swimming pools
- To spackle and level masonry
- To level stair treads
- For reprofiling work
- Can be used as a fillet filler
- Can be used as a surface filler
- Layer thickness: approximately 3 – 30 mm for chasms, 3 – 100 mm
Substrate Preparation
- Minimum substrate age:
- PCI Novoment M1 plus and PCI Novoment Z1: 24 hours
- PCI Novoment M3 plus and PCI Novoment Z3: 3 days
- Cement screed: 28 days
- Concrete: 3 months
- The substrate must be dry, free of dust, and load-bearing
- Strongly absorbent cement substrates should be primed with PCI Gisogrund 1 diluted with water 1:1
- Sandpapered anhydrite or gypsum screeds and cast asphalt screeds should be primed with PCI Gisogrund undiluted
- For time-sensitive work, cementitious and gypsum-containing substrates should be primed with PCI Gisogrund Rapid and allowed to dry
- Zement screeds should not exceed 4% residual moisture content; anhydrite screeds should not exceed 0.5%, measured with a CM device
Substrate Preparation
- The substrate must be clean, load-bearing, free of dust and grease
- Remove loose parts and cement laitance
- Smooth concrete surfaces should be roughened until the aggregate is visible
- The substrate may be moist but not wet
- Clean surfaces contaminated with grease and oil with PCI Entoumlmmer
- Pre-treated substrate should be sufficiently moist and matt during application, at least 2 hours prior, and kept moist; surface must be matte and moist, avoiding foam formation
Processing PCI Nanocret R2
- Pour water into a clean mixing container, add the appropriate amount of PCI Nanocret R2, and mix with a suitable stirring or mixing tool, e.g., a Collomix attachment on a powerful drill, until a plastic, lump-free mortar is formed
- Let it rest for 2 minutes, then stir again
- First, apply a scratch coat of the mixed mortar onto the prepared, matte-moist substrate or alternatively prepare a bonding slurry from PCI Nanocret R2 with a good spreading consistency and apply with a broom or trowel
- The subsequent application is then done wet-on-wet in the desired layer thickness between 3 and 100 mm
- For surface application, work in multiple layers starting from 30 mm thickness
- Once the mortar has set, approximately 30 – 60 minutes after application at 20°C, finishing can begin with rubbing, e.g., with a sponge or wooden/plastic board
- In strong wind or direct sunlight, the finished surface should be kept moist or covered with foil during the first 4 hours to prevent rapid drying
Cleaning
- Tools should be cleaned immediately after use with water; once hardened, only mechanical removal is possible
Important Notes
- Do not dilute setting mortar with water or mix with fresh mortar once it begins to set
