Substrate Preparation

The joint edges or bonding surfaces must be dry, firm, free of dust and dirt. Remove grease and oil with PCI Universal Cleaner from non-absorbent substrates. Deep joints should be pre-filled with an inert DIN Polyband closed-cell polyethylene round cord. The backing material must not be foamed during application. Avoid three-sided adhesion on the substrate. Do not use bitumen or tar-containing materials.

Processing of PCI Silcofug E

All common manual or cartridge guns, e.g., from Karl Dahm, are suitable for processing PCI Silcofug E. For sausage packs, special pressing guns including a nozzle should be used.

Cut the cap of the threaded nozzle straight, unscrew, and cut to size according to the joint width. Insert the cartridge into the gun. Inject PCI Silcofug E into the joint under flank pressure. For angled connections, inject as a triangular joint. Before skin formation, smooth the sealant with a suitable tool moistened with PCI Glättmittel. Skin formation occurs within a few minutes. Work in sections as fresh PCI Silcofug E adheres perfectly to already cured material.
