Application Area:
Grinding and filling of walls, ceilings, and floor surfaces for wallpaper, paints, dispersion plasters, wall and floor coverings on absorbent and non-absorbent substrates, filling cracks, deep holes, slots, and joints. In the floor area for reworking unevenness and cavity fillings on gypsum and cement-based fillers. For quick fixation of metal, joints, and angle profiles. As a rapid construction system for quickly executed repair measures.
For indoor use.
Suitable for surface filling in layers of 0 to 10 mm thickness.

Type:
Special cements, well dispersible plastic powder, and fine-grained fillers.
When mixed with water, a stable mortar is formed that can be processed for approximately 15 minutes and begins to harden within 30-45 minutes through hydration and drying. Reworking with all coverings, parquet with ARDEX SMP adhesives is possible after approximately 45 minutes on absorbent substrates and after approximately 60 minutes on non-absorbent substrates.

Preparation of the substrate:
ARDEX universal rapid filler adheres practically inseparably to almost all common building substrates. The substrate must be dry, firm, load-bearing, rough, and free of separating agents.

Old, non-adhering, or weakly bonded coatings as well as loose plasters and wallpapers must be removed.

Processing:
Only mix as much mortar as can be processed within approximately 15 minutes. In a clean mixing container, add clear water and stir vigorously while adding powder until a lump-free mortar is achieved.
For mixing 1 kg of ARDEX R4 RAPID, approximately 0.4 l of water is required. The mortar is processable at 18°C to 20°C for about 15 minutes. Lower temperatures extend the processing time, higher temperatures shorten it.
On non-absorbent substrates, ARDEX universal rapid filler must be applied at a minimum thickness of 1 mm. Adequately troweled layers can be reworked with freshly mixed material.
In case of doubt, test surfaces should be prepared. ARDEX R4 Rapid should be processed at temperatures above 5°C.
