Aufbrennsperre is a synthetic resin dispersion with high alkalinity resistance, used indoors on highly absorbent substrates before plastering with gypsum plasters. It reduces the absorbency of the substrate and the risk of flashing. Aufbrennsperre is also used on fiber cement boards in the red lime system. The concentrate is diluted with water depending on the substrate, with a ratio of 11 to 13 parts by volume.

Application Area

Aufbrennsperre is a primer concentrate for interior use on brick masonry, porous concrete, calcium silicate bricks, and other highly absorbent substrates to reduce the absorbency and the risk of flashing. It serves as a plaster adhesion bridge according to DIN V 18550 before applying gypsum plasters such as MP 75 L, MP 75 GF, MP 75 Diamant, hand plasters like Rotband, bonding agents for dry plaster like Perlfix, and multi-finish plasters like MultiFinish.

Execution

Before work begins, thoroughly stir the container contents. Dilute Aufbrennsperre according to the substrate, see technical data sheet, and apply evenly in a cross-coat with a lambswool roller. Immediately clean tools after use with water. Freshly spilled Aufbrennsperre should be wiped off with warm water. Hardened material can be removed after softening with a damp cloth. Wait until the Aufbrennsperre is no longer sticky and fully dry before subsequent work, at least 6 hours at 20°C and 65% relative humidity. On cold and humid construction sites, drying times will be longer.
