KNAUF BETOKONTAKT Adhesion Bridge for Gypsum Plasters on Concrete
Betokontakt is a synthetic resin dispersion mixed with pure quartz sand, characterized by high alkalinity resistance. It is used indoors on dense, non-absorbent substrates as a plaster adhesion bridge.
Before applying gypsum and gypsum-lime plasters or before mixing dry plaster, a pretreatment with Betokontakt is required. The use of Betokontakt is especially recommended for smooth-shuttered cast-in-place concrete or solid concrete ceilings from building elements, as well as for stripped concrete prefabricated panels.
Application Area
- Application indoors on cast-in-place concrete and concrete prefabricated panels
- Solid concrete ceilings from building elements
- Filigree ceilings, EPS and XPS, other dense, non-absorbent substrates as a plaster adhesion bridge according to DIN 18550
Betokontakt is applied before the application of:
- Gypsum plasters, e.g., MP 75 L, MP 75 GF, MP 75 Diamant
- Hand plasters, e.g., Rotband
- Bonding agents for dry plaster, e.g., Perlfix
- Suitable mineral plasters, e.g., MultiFinish
Properties
- Suitable for indoor use
- Particularly low emissions
- Ready to use
- Creates a rough surface
- Pink pigmented
- Can be processed with machine or by hand
- Suitable for mineral substrates, especially concrete
- Tested according to EMICODE EC1PLUS
Application Instructions
Before starting work, thoroughly stir the container contents. Betokontakt is applied undiluted and evenly with a short-haired lambswool roller or sprayed machine with a suitable PFT pump, e.g., SWING, and rolled in with a lambswool roller. When processed mechanically, slight water addition (max. 1 l water per 200 kg Betokontakt) can be used to adjust spray consistency. Immediately clean tools after use with water. Contamination from Betokontakt splashes or similar should be wiped off the surfaces while still fresh with warm water. Dried material can be removed after softening with a damp cloth. Wait until Betokontakt is no longer sticky and fully dry before proceeding with subsequent work, at least 12 hours at 20°C and 65% relative humidity. Under cold and humid construction conditions, drying times may be longer.
