Application Area
- For interior use
- For laying under bonded waterproofing PCI Seccoral 1K or 2K Rapid
- On wooden structures on walls
- For decoupling under ceramic and natural stone coverings
- On all load-bearing, including cracked substrates and mixed substrates such as concrete, cement, anhydrite, and asphalt screeds, old parquet coverings with good adhesion, cement, lime-cement, and gypsum plasters
Substrate Preparation
- Suitable as a laying substrate: cement, asphalt, magnesite, stone, wood, and anhydrite screeds, flat concrete ceilings, old natural stone, artificial stone, and ceramic coverings, firmly adhering parquet, as well as load-bearing cement, lime-cement, and gypsum plasters
- Continuous movable cracks in floor surfaces must be sealed with PCI Apogel F, ensuring a crack-proof bond and reinforcement. Hairline cracks require no special treatment.
Old Floor Coverings
If old coverings such as carpets, PVC, or linoleum are to be replaced with ceramic or natural stone coverings, the old coverings must be removed, and loose as well as firmly adhering adhesive residues should be removed as much as possible. Subsequently, the cleaned surface, including any remaining waterproof adhesive residues such as sulfate adhesive, must be completely removed with PCI Gisogrund, applied as a full surface primer. After drying, voids, blowholes, or cavities should be filled with PCI Repafix or PCI Nanocret R2 depending on the requirement. If necessary, remaining unevenness can be leveled with PCI Periplan.
Before laying PCI Pecilastic sheets, the floor must be level
New construction or renovation work
- Screeds or plaster surfaces must be level. Substrates should be primed with PCI Gisogrund. Allow the primer to dry.
- Rough floor surfaces should be smoothed with PCI Periplan. Large unevenness can be leveled with PCI Periplan. Unevenness on walls can be compensated with PCI Pericret or PCI Nanocret FC.
Application of PCI Pecilastic
- Lay out PCI Pecilastic and cut with a utility knife or scissors
- Apply PCI Flexmörtel or PCI Flexmörtel S1 Rapid, PCI Nanolight, or PCI Nanoflott light to the prepared substrate according to technical guidelines, using a 4 mm or 6 mm notched trowel
- Within the open time of PCI Flexmörtel, PCI Nanolight, and PCI Nanoflott light approximately 30 minutes, or approximately 20 minutes for PCI Flexmörtel S1 Rapid, lay the PCI Pecilastic sheets tightly together and press in
- After the setting of the thin-bed mortar, approximately 12 hours for PCI Flexmörtel and PCI Nanoflott light, approximately 5 hours for PCI Nanolight, and approximately 3 hours for PCI Flexmörtel S1 Rapid, the surface covering can be installed
