Substrate Preparation:
The substrate must be clean, dry, solid, load-bearing, free of fats, old coatings, and other residues. Remove heavy contamination mechanically, and residues of oil and wax with PCI Entölter. The adhesion strength must not be less than 1.5 N/mm on average, with a minimum individual value of 1.0 N/mm. The surface should be pretreated by sandblasting or shot blasting (Blastrac). Do not apply on rising damp from the substrate. If necessary, determine the moisture content of the concrete with the CM-Gerät. The substrate may only be coated if the residual moisture is less than 4 % by weight. Patches in the substrate must be leveled with PCI BauharzMörtel, with mortar mixtures depending on the depth of the patch.

Priming:
Wear safety glasses and protective gloves!

1. Pour the hardener component of the Bauharz in the appropriate ratio to the base component and mix intensively with a suitable stirrer or mixing tool, e.g., from Collomix, attached to a slow-running, infinitely adjustable drill at approximately 300 rpm for about 3 minutes. The mixed material must be transferred to another container. Scrape off residues from the container rim and the bottom of the mixing container, add to the mixture, and stir again.
2. Pour the mixed PCI Bauharz portion-wise onto the substrate and work into the surface with a spatula, roller, or brush.
3. Process PCI Bauharz within 30 minutes of mixing. These times apply at a substrate temperature of 23°C.
4. Apply and process the fresh primer with PCI Bauharz mortar. If not immediately possible, sprinkle the primer with dry, fire-dried quartz sand 0.2 mm to 0.7 mm, approximately 500 g/m², loose. After curing, remove any loose, unbound sand.

Processing PCI Bauharz:

1. Mix the base and hardener components in the appropriate ratio in a forced mixer for 1 minute. For smaller quantities, stirrer tools from Collomix, attached to a slow-running, infinitely adjustable drill at about 300 rpm, are suitable.
2. Add the various quartz sand mixtures according to the application area and mix intensively for another 2 minutes.
3. Apply the mortar into the still fresh or sanded, cured primer.
4. Distribute the mortar, level with a straightedge, and compact. Rake with a steel or plastic trowel or smooth with a suitable paddle trowel, e.g., from Fa Schwamborn.
5. After 16 to 48 hours, a surface sealing with PCI Bauharz or PCI Supracolor in a colored matte finish can be applied on the installed screed.
