- As fine filler for OS4 or OS 5a coatings according to DAfStb
- For layer thicknesses of 1 to 10 mm
Substrate preparation
The substrate must be clean, firmly bonded, open-pored, absorbent, and sufficiently rough. The minimum quality standards for concrete substrates must meet C20/25. Extremely dense, smooth substrates, as well as non-load-bearing layers and foamed concrete surfaces, must be removed using suitable methods such as blasting with solid abrasive media or high-pressure water jetting.
The bond tensile strength of a prepared concrete substrate must not be less than 0.8 N/mm².
The pretreated substrate should be sufficiently moist and pre-wetted about 2 hours before applying PCI Nanocret FC. The surface must be matt and moist.
Priming
On absorbent cementitious substrates, the substrate can be troweled without primer if pre-wetted to a matte moist state.
Highly absorbent substrates, e.g., porous concrete, should be pre-wetted or primed with PCI Gisogrund 1, diluted 1:1 to 1:2 with water.
Non-absorbent substrates should be primed with PCI Gisogrund 303.
Processing PCI Nanocret FC
Mix approximately 55% of the cold mixing water in a clean container. Then add 25 kg PCI Nanocret FC and mix for 3 minutes to a lump-free, plastic mortar. Larger quantities can be mixed in a forced mixer.
After a maturation time of about 3 minutes, remix PCI Nanocret FC.
The mortar can be processed using standard techniques such as troweling with a smoothing trowel—first apply a contact layer to the substrate. Small gaps can be filled with a steel trowel, larger surfaces leveled with a straightedge in horizontal and vertical directions.
For machine application via spraying, first spray a thin contact layer, then apply PCI Nanocret FC in the desired layer thickness.
After the mortar has set, approximately 45 to 90 minutes depending on substrate and processing temperature, PCI Nanocret FC can be smoothed with damp Styrofoam, felt, or sponge board without additional water.
In high temperatures, wind exposure, and direct sunlight, prevent premature drying of the mortar, e.g., by spraying with water multiple times, covering with jute mats or PE foil.
