Application Areas

• Substrate preparation

The substrate must be clean, dry, solid, load-bearing, free of grease, old coatings, and other residues. Remove heavy contamination mechanically or with PCI cleaner. Fill cracks and holes with suitable PCI repair mortars, e.g., PCI Novoment M1 plus M3 plus or PCI Nanocret. Seal cracks with PCI Apogel. The adhesion strength must not be less than 15 N/mm² on average, with a minimum individual value of 10 N/mm². The surface should be pretreated by grinding or shot blasting (e.g., with Blastrac).

Priming

Apply PCI Gisogrund 404. During processing, wear safety glasses. Thoroughly prime the surface with PCI Gisogrund 404 using a roller, brush, or soft-haired roller on the cleaned and pretreated substrate, ensuring even coverage to prevent pinholes. Cementitious screeds with PCI Gisogrund 404 diluted 1:3 with water should be applied in two coats, thoroughly soaking each layer. For concrete substrates, dilute PCI Gisogrund 404 1:2 with water and apply in two coats, thoroughly soaking each layer.

After the priming has dried for at least approximately 3 hours at 23°C, apply PCI Periplan Multi.

Processing of PCI Periplan Multi

Use clean, round, stable, and sufficiently tall mixing containers. Add PCI Periplan Multi and incorporate with suitable mixing equipment (e.g., Collomix) for at least 3 minutes until free of lumps. Let the mixture rest for about 3 minutes, then briefly remix. For larger areas, work with a paddle mixer (e.g., Collomatic 652KM) or pump method. When using the Collomatic 652KM, use the appropriate paddle for liquid screeds. Add PCI Periplan Multi to the prepared water and mix for at least 3 minutes.

Pour PCI Periplan Multi onto the dried, primed surface and distribute with a trowel to the required layer thickness. During installation, level and de-air with a suitable spiked roller. If a mineral surface finish is desired, after troweling, smooth with a float or trowel.

During processing and approximately 24 hours after installation, avoid drafts, strong heat, and direct sunlight. To protect the surface, PCI Periplan Multi can be overcoated with suitable PCI systems. Refer to the relevant technical data sheets for details. In exterior areas, the surface must be covered with a top layer.
