Substrate pretreatment:
The substrate must be clean, firm, open-pored, absorbent, and possess sufficient roughness. For highly stressed bonded coverings, the minimum quality of concrete substrates must correspond to C 20/25. Extremely dense, smooth substrates as well as non-load-bearing layers and damaged concrete surfaces must be roughened or removed using suitable methods, such as shot blasting with solid abrasive media or high-pressure water jetting. When reprofiling areas of breakout, mortar plugs, the edges should be prepared at an angle of 30 to 60 degrees with a rough surface. The pretreated cementitious substrate should be primed as soon as possible, ideally 24 hours, but at least 2 hours before applying PCI Repahaft, and kept moist. Before applying, the surface must be matt-moist, but not wet! Formation of foam must be avoided!

Processing of PCI Repahaft:

1. Prepare the amount of mixing water, add PCI Repahaft, and mix for at least 3 minutes to a lump-free bonding slurry. Quantities up to 25 kg can be mixed with a suitable stirrer or mixing tool, e.g., from Collomix, attached to a powerful drill; larger quantities in a forced-action mixer.
2. The mixed PCI Repahaft slurry must be immediately applied to the prepared surface and thoroughly brushed in with a stiff broom on the floor or a brush on the wall. Apply bonding bridge evenly and completely. Do not allow the bonding bridge to dry out!
3. Immediately after applying PCI Repahaft, apply and compact the screed mortar or cement mortar while fresh.
