Substrate Preparation

The joint edges or bonding surfaces must be dry, firm, and free of dust and dirt. Remove grease and oil with PCI Universal Cleaner from non-absorbent substrates.
Deeper joints should be pre-filled with an inert DIN Polyband closed-cell polyethylene round cord. The backing material must not be foamed during application.
Three-sided adhesion on the substrate must be avoided. Do not use bitumen or tar-containing materials.

Application of PCI Silcofug E

Suitable for all common manual or cartridge guns, e.g., from Karl Dahm. For products in sausage packs, special pressing guns including nozzles should be used.
Extrude the sealant by cutting the threaded nozzle straight. Unscrew the cap, cut to size according to joint width, then insert the cartridge into the gun.
Inject PCI Silcofug E into the joint under flank pressure. For angled connections, inject as a triangular joint.
Before skin formation, smooth the sealant with a suitable tool moistened with PCI Glättmittel. Skin formation occurs within a few minutes. Work in sections as fresh PCI Silcofug E adheres perfectly to already cured material.
