Substrate Preparation

The joint edges or bonding surfaces must be dry, firm, and free of dust and dirt. Remove grease and oil with PCI Universduumlnner from non-absorbent substrates. Deep joints should be pre-filled with an inert DIN Polyband closed-cell polyethylene round cord. The backing material must not be foamed during application. Avoid three-sided adhesion on the substrate. Do not use bitumen or tar-containing materials.

Processing of PCI Silcofug E

Suitable for all common manual or cartridge caulking guns, e.g., from Karl Dahm. For products in sausage packs, special caulking guns including a nozzle are required.

Cut the cap of the threaded nozzle straight. Unscrew and cut to size according to joint width. Insert the cartridge into the gun. Inject PCI Silcofug E under flank pressure into the joint. For angled connections, inject as a triangular joint. Before skin formation, smooth the sealant with a suitable tool moistened with PCI Glättmittel. Skin formation occurs within a few minutes. Working in sections is possible as fresh PCI Silcofug E adheres perfectly to already cured material.
