Tubag Trass Joint Filler TFP 25kg for Natural Stone Slabs
Properties
- Water and moisture resistant
- Artificially rendered lightweight
- Easy to process
- Prevents efflorescence and staining during joint filling
- Ensures good adhesion to stone edges
- Frost resistant
Application
- To prevent transverse cracking in particularly wide joints
- For clean joint filling of natural stone slabs and concrete stone slabs
- For surfaces with light to moderate traffic load
- For decorative design of terraces, patios, and walkways
- Especially suitable for filling wide joints created during the installation of polygonal slabs, e.g., basalt, porphyry, sandstone, or granite
Quality & Safety
- Workable dry mortar of mortar group M 10 according to DIN EN 998-2
- Cement according to DIN EN 197
- Trass according to DIN 51043
- Graded quartz sands according to DIN EN 13139
- Chromate-free according to TRGS 613
- Additives with building authority approval to improve processing properties
Substrate Preparation
- Clean the joints thoroughly or remove old joints and clean thoroughly
- Minimum joint width: 10 mm
- Suitable for continuous joints up to 35 mm, in partial areas up to 50 mm
- Establish the required joint depth by blowing out and/or chipping out
- Clean the installation surface after chipping out, ensure it is dry
- Pre-wet the surface depending on absorbency, multiple pre-wetting recommended
- When inserting the Trass joint filler, no water should stand in the joints
Processing
- Mix approximately 3 liters of water in a clean container and thoroughly blend with a 25 kg sack using a stirrer or forced mixer until a workable, slightly plastic consistency is achieved
- For non-absorbent, dense natural stone slabs (e.g., porphyry, granite), press the joint filler lightly into the joints so that they are completely sealed and filled deeply. Keep the mortar in minimal contact with the stone surface to facilitate cleaning
- For absorbent, open-pored natural stone slabs (e.g., basalt, sandstone), manually insert the joint filler with a jointing iron or mortar spray so that the joints are fully sealed and filled deeply. After approximately 12 hours, check the surface for dryness by thumb test, then clean the surface multiple times with a clean sponge
- Filling joints should be protected from rapid drying and reworked as necessary. The processing times refer to normal temperature conditions (20°C, 65% relative humidity). Fully cured slabs can be released for foot traffic after about 24 hours in dry weather. Delays may occur in damp and cold weather. High-pressure cleaning can be performed after 3-4 weeks
- Only water free of other substances should be used for polygonal slabs
