weberTec 946 Silane-Based Injection Cream for the Retrofitting Horizontal Sealing of Masonry Against Rising Moisture
Application Area
For the retrofitting cross-section sealing of masonry against rising moisture in the non-pressurized drilling injection process with moisture levels of up to 95%. Suitable for all common masonry types.
Product Description
webertec 946 is a water-thinnable, solvent-free injection cream based on silane. Official test certificate according to WTAMerkblatt 4404.
Color: white
Storage
When stored dry and frost-free in the original sealed container, the material is at least 12 months shelf life.
Composition
Silan-based
Product Properties
- Ready for processing, especially suitable for hollow masonry, no uncontrolled runoff, easy and safe to apply
- Application with hand pressure sprayer or e.g., Gloria sprayer
- Effective even at high moisture levels up to 95%
- Water-thinnable cream penetrates into the finest capillaries
- Does not form salt efflorescence like foam-based products
General Notes
- Drying of the wall above the injection zone to the equilibrium moisture content can only occur if no dense wall coverings are present. Remove plasters and paints and ensure adequate drying conditions in the treated room cavities.
- Additional measures may be necessary. It must be ensured that at least one joint is drilled through. For masonry thicknesses over 60 cm, we recommend pressure injection with webertec 940 E. Drill holes should be arranged on both sides at wall corners.
- Depending on the extent of damage, flank measures such as retrofitting or interior sealing or repair plaster systems should be used. The notes of WTA Merkblatt 4404 Masonry Injection must be observed.
Special Notes
- Do not mix with other building materials
- The application tip: How to properly carry out basement interior renovation must be observed
- Not suitable for aerated concrete
Substrate Preparation
- Old, crumbling, and poorly adhering plasters and coatings should be removed down to the load-bearing substrate. Masonry joints about 2 cm deep should be chipped out and surfaces mechanically cleaned.
- Damaged masonry should be replaced or repaired. Substrate preparation should be carried out at least 0.8 m beyond the moisture source.
- For interior walls or ceiling areas, treat the substrate at least 1 m away from the exterior wall.
- Drill holes with a diameter of approximately 16 mm at a spacing of about 8 to 12 cm, preferably horizontally, into the bed joint. The drill depth corresponds to the wall thickness minus 5 cm.
- If the drill holes are to be sealed afterwards, they should be drilled at an angle of up to 45° into the masonry joint or brick. The bore must reach within about 5 cm of the outer wall surface.
- For high moisture levels (>75%), it is recommended to drill in two staggered rows.
Processing
- Injection process
- Insert webertec 946 sachets into the prepared weber sys hand pressure sprayer No. 3. Screw the adapter firmly onto the union thread. Attach the injection tube to the adapter shaft.
- Alternatively, process with suitable dispensing equipment, e.g., Gloria sprayer with injection lance.
- Injection begins pressureless from the bottom row of holes. The drill holes are to be completely filled with injection cream from behind to the front.
- Once the injection material is fully absorbed, fill the drill holes with webertec 942 or seal with webertec 933.
