Knauf Lup 222 Lime Cement Lightweight Render Lightweight Plaster External and Internal Render 30 kg
Knauf Lup 222 Lime Cement Lightweight Render is suitable for thermal insulation purposes.
Lightweight internal plaster for thermal insulation on masonry such as Liapor Bims and bricks with a bulk density of > 700 kg/m3 and aerated concrete with a bulk density of > 500 kg/m3, as well as other wall substrates that require overcoating with a top coat. Pre-treatment of various substrates is necessary.
Properties
- Lightweight mortar LW, compressive strength category CS II according to DIN 9981
- Mortar group P II according to DIN V 18550
- Contains EPS additive
- Water-repellent
- Diffusion-open
- Weather-resistant
- Stress-relieved
- Suitable for interior and exterior use
- Can be processed with machine or manually
Application
Suitable for all normal and thermal insulation masonry types such as bricks, aerated concrete, Liapor, etc., as well as prefabricated walls and other wall substrates that require overcoating with a top coat. Pre-treatment of the substrate is necessary on various surfaces.
- As an internal and external base coat
- As a base coat for small-format tiles (60 x 30 cm) in residential buildings and kitchens
Execution
Single-layer 15-30 mm with plaster thicknesses of 30-50 mm; work in two or more layers and fully embed surface reinforcement mesh. Roughen lower layers with a broom before further processing. Allow 1 day per mm of plaster thickness for drying and hardening, or work in one layer and after complete drying and hardening, allow 1 day per mm of plaster thickness. For additional layers over 30 mm, allow an extra week of standing time with SM700 Pro, SM300, or Lustro, and perform a full-surface reinforcement.
Preparation
Normal absorbent substrates can be plastered without pre-treatment. For highly absorbent substrates, apply wet-in-wet with a layer of 5-10 mm first, then apply the second layer wet-in-wet up to the required plaster thickness. For non-absorbent substrates, use a mineral bonding bridge with SM700 Pro, SM300, SockelSM, or Lustro.
Application
For pre-treated substrates, allow the primer applied to dry completely. Render is usually processed with a mixing pump (e.g., PFT G4/G5) for efficiency and time savings, but can also be applied manually. Distribute the plaster evenly with a trowel or straightedge and scrape after initial setting.
Drying
The finished base coat must be completely dry before further coating. Drying time depends on plaster thickness and environmental conditions such as weather and temperature. To prevent too rapid drying, external renders should be protected from direct sunlight. Generally, allow at least 1 day per mm of plaster thickness.
