- Information sheet DNV "Paving covers and slab laying of natural stone for traffic surfaces"
Processing of PCI Pavifix CEM Rapid
- Pour the mixing water into a clean container. Add the powder and mix with a suitable stir or mixing tool attached to a powerful drill, paddle mixer, free-fall mixer, or forced mixer to produce a cohesive, lump-free mortar.
- After a maturation time of approx. 3 minutes, stir again.
- In the Gieszlig method, apply the mortar with a suitable Gieszlig container into the joints until a slight excess is achieved. After the mortar has set, test with your fingertip, cut off excess with a trowel, and immediately smooth the joint with a slightly dampened sponge or sponge board. Remove any remaining mortar film from the surface with a sponge or sponge board.
- In the Schlämm method, apply the mixed material onto the pre-wetted surface and work into the joints with a rubber squeegee. Keep the surface moist with a light spray of water. After the mortar has set, test with your fingertip, loosen the mortar residues on the stone surface with water and a rubber squeegee or soft broom (e.g., coconut broom), then rinse the surface with water. To prevent joint filling, the water jet should be directed nearly horizontally to the surface.
