SANDROPLAST Bitumen Roof Coating

Type of product

Solvent-containing, cold-application black coating based on bitumen

Application area

Solvent-containing and cold-flowing bitumen coating for protection, maintenance, and regeneration of weathered, discolored, and slightly cracked bitumen roof membranes. The bitumen roof coating penetrates deep into the treated bitumen roof membrane due to its special bitumen solvent mixture. The treated membrane becomes flexible and resilient again. Not suitable for plastic roof membranes.

Properties

The product complies with its specifications according to AIB DS 835 Appendix II Column 4. The dried protective film is water-repellent, weathered, and resistant to aggressive effects from aqueous solutions of alkalis, mineral acids, salts, and flue gases.

Application instructions

The surface to be treated must be dry and clean. Remove residues of oil and grease, as well as loose components. Repair cracks or other damages of bitumen roof membranes with SANDROPLAST filler. Waves and blisters should be repaired professionally. Subsequently, apply the bitumen roof coating by brushing, rolling, or with an appropriate spray device. Do not apply on damp substrates.

Note

Freshly applied coating may be damaged or washed off in heavy rain.

Material consumption

Approximately 0.3 l/m² depending on substrate condition, processing temperature, and application method.

Storage conditions

Storage life in original, sealed containers: 12 months. The material is not frost-sensitive.

Disposal

Completely emptied containers can be recycled as metal or plastic. Waste key: 17 03 02 Asphalt, tar-free, previously 54 407 and emptied 54 912.
